This last week I worked building the driving station and organizing and cleaning the play room. Then I practiced a couple of minutes driving the robots.

This last week I helped Rangel to test the computer for the FLL broadcasting.
Friday, 10 after school I help pack and set the things for the tournament.
Saturday my main job was to broadcast but a big time I was helping the others to pack and set up everything.

December, 6 2010

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I helped build the AUV.
Thursday 2, I worked founding new ways to mount the motors for the new robot
Friday 3, I cutted 8 (6.25' X .5') plastic bands that would use to tie the motors.
Then I learned how to rivet. Then how to make threads in the outside of a pipe.
After school I started to get the things for the broadcasting ready. Then about 5 p.m. me and the broadcasting crew broadcasted in the judging rooms. At 6:30 we could watch the three different judging rooms in the viewing simultaniously. At 8 p.m. I helped to carry things for the LEGO tournament to the auditorium until 10 p.m.
Saturday my main job was to broadcast. When my job was over then I went to help with other things. I helped Ramon carry the tables back to the rooms up stairs.
Monday 6, I mounted 4 motors almost by my self.

Monday 22, I worked in the NURC props. We tie up a nut to a thing hanging.
Tuesday 23, Me and big Ayala brother test the computers for the LEGO broadcasting. Successfully we made 5 computers work and broadcast.
Wednesday 24, I help taking pictures of the NURC props by holding the white background for the pictures.

November 20, 2010

Monday 15, of Nov. I went mentor. I supervise the kids that programed the robots.
Tuesday 16 & Wednesday 17 I did the same job as last Monday from 3 to 5 P.M. By the end of the day the kids practiced and successfully made the robot cross the field and finish two missions of 25 pts.
Thrusday 18, of Nov. I stayed after school to tape the camera to the tripod. Then me and small Ayala brother tested the camera and broadcasted for practice. After that, the last hour (5:15-6:15p.m.) I helped trace a line for the AUVSI with some type.
Friday 19, of Nov. In lunch I worked in the AUVSI frame by volting and unvolting some pieces. After school I went to the East half side of the play room to set up the broadcasting. I followed the same procedures as the day before for the broadcasting. But for not reason I could not do it. At 3:30 I asked for help to Jonathan Ayala. At 5:30 we could broadcast. From 6 to 8 we (Jonathan, Jacob, other person help and I) broadcasted the FLL scrimage.
Saturday 20 of Nov. I attended the After School Conference. I help in the robot demostration by helping change the battery and trapping the soccer balls. I talk to few people which some of them told me they saw us either in TV. or newspaper (which in none of them I had been in the robotics team) and handed some paper about FIRST leages. I think some one is going to donate me money because a lady who I talk to only took a brochure and was very interested in the tax credit donation.

Tuesday 9, I went to mentor, the kids are still programing the robots.
Wednesday 10, I help clean the play room for the LEGO competence.
Friday 12, I glue the top parts of the pvc AUV base. Then Timmy, Dillon, Joach, Manuel and I turn it up side down. I think we glue it ok because no parts fall apart from it.
Satuday 13, I went to robot Olympics. I change the batteries a couple times and carried the parts that we need from the school to the van, from the van to the competence, from the competence to the van and from the van to the school.

Nov, 9 2010

Friday 5 of nov: I helped move heavy staff in the building room. After that I help prepare things for the party. Only few persons went to see the robot.
Monday 8 of Nov. I translate a letter. Most of the day I clean up the play room. I also build things for the AUV.

I went mentor Sutton. We start to work in programming the 2 robots. We did one mission.

I went mentor. The kids made the robots cross the whole field.

I went mentor. We made the robots make the brain mission.

October 29, 2010

One day I attend the tour for the LEGO turnament. After that I asked Jacob to teach me about broadcasting. It is easy to broadcast on uslive or something like that. I still have to learn more.

Monday 25, I went to mentor Sutton. We have to start build another lego robot because the one we build was anticuated, too big, hard to manuver, lose control easyly, almost useless.

Tuesday 26, I stayed after school. I helped assemble the parts with their respective hole, nuts, bolts, and position to make one omnidirectional wheel. I finish one by myself. Then I helped lock type every nut of 3 of the wheels. That took me from 3:15 to 5:45.

Wednesday 27, I helped put the wheels for the tool case. After that I cut 1/2" long pvc pipes that would be use later as spacers betwwen the wheel and transmission. Mr. Whitley was teaching me how to load things, in this case a 120 lb tool case, with more math instead of force.

One day in this week I started to make a stick with the Lathe that is attached to a motor to make a propeller. I went to mentor wednesday.

Early in this week a searched for Hydrophones I got an answer but not the price. I took the PSAT which is a requirement. Friday I watched how propellers were tested and the compass.

  Today I got the Wired Magazine. I read some articles. One was about Oscar Vasquez and the other one about a Canadian submarine. In the shared documents I read about the components that will go in the AUV. I have doubts how they would be connected and some of them I know what they do but I don't know how they work. I found that all the components will cost between 2,800 and 3,050 dollars.

Friday 1st I helped Dillon to test the shooter. The ping-pong shooter (which only had the solenoid to shoot) now it has a loader. The test was not very successful. Dillon, Joach and me tried to demostrate the new advances in the ping-pong shooter to Mr. Lajvardi but unfortunately we end up making him waste about 3 minutes of his life and he went to luch 3 minutes late. Later that day I watched the freedom writers movie. I have watched that movie three times. At about 5:30 I went to "FIRST" Friday. I only past one or two brosures and most of the time I was driving the robot as pilot and copilot.
This week Monday 4 to Friday 8 of October my main goal was to attend the Amateur Radio classes. Every day I went on time and I feel bad for people that went late because they got no donuts and missed a portion of class. Throughout this days I learned many things about electricity, radio waves, rules of ham radio, electric devices, units of mesurement, radios, antenas, schematic symbols, better and and more effective ways to contact people during a emergency through a radio and safety while installing, testing, or operating a ham radio station. Thursday I studied about 200 questions and writed down about 100. Friday I payed 1/3 of attention to the teacher, 1/3 to the book, and 1/3 to the QRZ website practice test. Friday I passed the test.
This week at least I clean the sawdust 4 days. I helped to tie the robot that is going to Costa Rica. I helped to take the box downstairs to the truck that would ship it. I payed attention to some speeches that Mr. Lajvardi said about technology, school, and healthy food. I also watched a video about how humans changed earth in last 50 years. 
Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 I went mentor to Sutton. Mr. Jones was amazed that Walter, Joach, Ana and me went mentoring when we are in vacations. We started teach the kids how to set up the field and build the robots. Tuesday 5 we could not mentor in the last 15 minutes (4:45-5:00) all the kids went outside to play with the hail.

Tuesday 28, after school I helped change the transmission of Heather, it tooks us one hour and 30 minutes. After that Eddie was teaching me how to set up the computer and joysticks that are use to drive Heather. I drive it for a few moments. Later at 5 p.m. I was learning how to use the Lathe. Wednesday 29, in lunch I made a cone figure with the Lathe. After school I walked to Sutton to to mentor. First we introduced to the kids and teachers then we started to teach and help them to build the LEGO parts. I mentored about two hours.

Thursday 23,  After school I helped cleaning the play room and pack some tools. Then I help to get things ready to the Estrella Family trip and took them to the van. Friday 24, I was helping  test the ping-pong shooter. After school I did not stayed to watch the freedom writers movie because I seen it two or three times.

September 23, 2010

In Friday I was at the meeting. Ledge talked about new things and things that had to be done for the team. He talked about Dream Act. Ledge talked about internet that how people use it just to waste time and attack people. At lunch Eddie talked to Martin and me how an engine work and explained the following. The main reason of an engine is convert energy into motion. For example when you have Hydrogen (H) the Spark plug would burn the hydrogen mixed with air, all this is inside a piston, then the piston would move back and forth. I think he wanted to explain how to convert H2O to H then H to electricity. On Tuesday after school I attend the meeting were everybody got somethig to do for the EVROV. 5 minutes later I went to the neumatics workshop. They explain to us in a board many things about neumatics. I learn that a fuse has two wires that make a circuit when it gets to a certain tempeture they break the circuit until it cools. Then I saw the demostration about the pistons. Later I when to see and help a little to test the ball shooter. Wednesday I went to Sutton Middle school  to mentor.

In friday I help clean the room. After school we did not have meeting so I bough and then signed up with with Mrs. Gutierrez for the practice SAT. In monday 13, of september I started to help in the robot that will go into space. Martin and I finish drilling holes in the board for the electronics that will be mount there. Later we learned other ways to drill with more precision and without breaking the flourecent acrylic. From 5:30 to 6:10 we started to mount the cables and everything that goes in the board. We lost some nuts and bolts and we still working on it. We also are mounting the flourecent board to check if it fits in the structure.

Friday September 3, I stayed after school to watch the video 2 million minutes. It was about how much time a student attends school in India, China, and USA. On tuesday we finished mounting the last wheel then we started to brainstorm ideas of what we would put on the top of the robot. Yestoday in the morning I took measures from the robot to then start to sketch it.

Robotics.

I've been working this week mounting the transmissions in the robot. I helped to clean up in the flood. Now Im working by mounting front and back wheels.

 Today I was in the foundraising workshop learning new ways to convince people and bussines to support the team.

Last week I was learning how to use google documents, how to write instead of using microsoft word, how to publish, do presentations, spreadsheets, and folders. Then I watched the "Safety is FIRST" powerpoint in how to be safe while working with tools and materials.

I've been working in the robot that we are building.

Robotics

In tuesday I was learning how to cut the acrylic and fiber glass. On thursday I was helping cleanning the room. Then I help in the underwater test by helping taking the tempeture. In friday I was learnig how to program LEGO. Then I research for the batteries.

Work

   The sencond day and third day before working in LEGO, I was helping to unscrew the old robots. On august 4th help to clean and organize the nuts, screws, that we unscrew the day before.

Robotics

From first day that LEGO came I started to work in it. Exept Friday 6 of August and Friday 13 of August 2010 since we were watching a movie. I stay 2 hrs. since the beggining of the year after school.
Ive started to practice for ham radio.
